No-- the victim is not one of the players in the game. We want everyone to get to have fun during the murder mystery party (instead of someone having to play dead instead of playing the game.)

No, the killer doesn't know they are guilty--that way, bad acting won't ruin your game! All players participate in the detective-style portion of the game, where they get to work to solve the murder. The identity of the killer is revealed at the end of the game when the host reads the confession.
