It had been getting great business and, so far, had been kept completely off police radar. Many clubs had been shut down by the police due to the prohibition, but the Underground Club was thriving. People were flocking to the club to get their dose of fun, flappers, and drinks. For Charlie and James Doe, the couple that owned the Underground Club, this was great. Money was rolling in and the club was getting plenty of business. However, the Does had some enemies… people that did not support the illegal lifestyle that James and Charlie had adopted or people who had their own reasons to dislike the Does. One of those enemies took this hatred so far that they killed James. James Doe was poisoned. However, this was not brought to the attention of the police, or anyone really, because James had been killed in the Underground Club. Calling the police to help catch the murderer would only lead to the arrest of many and the shutting down of the club. So, everyone hid the murder. It was not spoken of until one day, a week after James’s death, when Charlie Doe locked everyone who she thought could have killed her husband in the club. There were several people, including Charlie, who could have killed James. The police cannot be involved, therefore, all of you must be the detectives. You will ask questions and get the answers you need to figure out who had the motive, mean, and opportunity to murder James Doe… and all of you are suspects. James Doe was found at 11:00 at night and he was estimated to have been poisoned at 10:20 and to have died only five minutes later. The murder occurred a week before this investigation. Found next to the body was a pen, a lollipop stick, broken glass, and a cigarette. Now, it is up to you to find out who killed James Doe. It could be any of you and as of now, no one knows who the killer is… not even the killer themself. Good luck!
